Description

Cake Pops are the perfect bite-sized treats for any occasion! These delicious little cake balls are made from crumbled cake mixed with frosting, rolled into balls, and coated with smooth chocolate. They are fun to make and can be decorated to match any theme or celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Cake:

    • 2 cups crumbled cake (vanilla, chocolate, or your choice)
    • ½ cup frosting (buttercream, cream cheese, or chocolate)
  • For the Coating:

    • 2 cups  melted chocolate (milk, dark, or white)
    • 1 tbsp  coconut oil (optional, for smooth coating)
  • For Decoration:

    • 🎨 Sprinkles, crushed nuts, or drizzled chocolate (optional)
    • 🍭 Cake pop sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Base:

    • Crumble the cake into fine crumbs using your hands or a food processor.
    • Mix in the frosting until a dough-like consistency forms.
  2. Form the Cake Balls:

    • Scoop out portions of the mixture and roll into smooth balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
    • Place them on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for 20 minutes to firm up.
  3. Insert Cake Pop Sticks:

    • Dip one end of each cake pop stick into melted chocolate, then insert it halfway into a cake ball.
    • Freeze for another 10 minutes to secure the sticks.
  4. Coat with Chocolate:

    • Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating.
    • Let excess chocolate drip off and place them upright in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand.
  5. Decorate & Set:

    • While the coating is still wet, add sprinkles or other toppings.
    • Allow to set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10 minutes until firm.

Notes

  • For a smoother chocolate coating, add a little coconut oil to the melted chocolate.
  • Experiment with different cake and frosting flavors for variety.
  • Store cake pops in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
